Geoff Batt

I’ve been riding bikes in one form or another since 1995. I started riding solo speedway as a 16 yr old in England. Over the next 6 years I rode on a semi professional basis for the Isle of  White, Oxford and Rye House.  The biggest highlight being qualifying and riding in the British U21 final.

I gave up racing for a while before moving to NZ in 2004. I purchased a MotoX bike and started racing on a casual basis afterwhich I attended my first trackday and discovered my real passion. This developed into more trackdays until I bought my first race bike in 2008.

NZ Superbike Champs, Taupo 23/24 March 2013

So following an extremely successful Rd 4 at Hampton we headed off to Taupo for Rd 5. As with Rd 4 I couldn’t make the Friday practice session so headed down very early (4:30!!) Saturday morning. I was 1st session on track at 8:30 and needed to sign on and get through scruitineering before then! Luckily my... Read More

NZ Superbike Champs - Hampton Downs, March 2013

So the long awaited Nationals arrived. I made a decision to do both North island rounds at the start of the season, I did one round last year and one the year before but always a little half heartedly. I really wanted to make these 2 meetings the focus of my season but after having a pretty average year I was questioning if I should bother! Read More

Auckland Club Champs R4

I was looking forward to getting out on Hampton again - I’d made quite a few changes to the bike since my last visit back in December and was keen to have a ride at the track I’m probably most familiar with to see how it felt. I... Read More

Battle of the Streets

February 2013 This was always going to be interesting! I entered in 2010 on my RGV 250, and it was a disaster really, the day was full of crashes and I only got 1 practice and 1 race. I’ve wanted to do it again for a few years but wanted to be comfortable with the bike I... Read More

BRM Summer Series R1 Mansfield

Sunday the 13th saw the start of the Summer Series and my first trip to Manfield for the season. After a pretty average run up to this event I was hopeful I could turn things around and get back on the podium. Saturday was a practise day so I took the opportunity to re... Read More

Auckland Club Champs R3

Saturday the 15th was the 3rd round of the Auckland club championships at Hampton downs. After a disappointing Rd 2 I was hoping for some decent results!   Read More

Auckland Club Champs R2

I was a little more nervous than usual as I hadn’t been on a bike of any description for 9 weeks since the last round. I had put my bike onto a dyno to try and improve the fuelling and get a little more mid range power back after it’s winter rebuild so I was keen to see the effects. Read More

Auckland Club Champs R1

After a frantic week with many late nights in the garage and a trip to Taupo on Friday to run the engine in I finally arrived at Hampton Downs Saturday morning ready for the 1st round of the Auckland club championship. Read More
